The same guidelines also ask:

  • Use a recent passport-style colour photograph taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
  • Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face, without harsh shadows or red-eye.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. If you wear glasses, there should be no reflections. Religious headwear is allowed but must not cover your face.
  • During the online application you must also capture and upload a photograph with a webcam or mobile phone, in addition to this uploaded photograph.

Two photo steps: upload and live capture

IBPS asks for a scanned or digital photograph that you upload, and separately for a photograph captured live with a webcam or mobile phone during the online application.

The requirements on this page are for the uploaded photograph. ExamPhotoFixer can't do the live capture for you — that happens on the IBPS application website.

How to prepare your photo

  1. Start from a recent passport-style colour photo that follows the guideline notes above.
  2. Open the IBPS Photo Resizer and choose the photo.
  3. Drag and zoom so your face fills the 200:230 frame — nothing is stretched.
  4. Process the photo, check the results list, then download the JPG and upload it in the photograph field.

What the tool handles — and what it can't

  • Size of 200 × 230 pixels, cropped rather than stretched
  • File size within 20–50 KB, at the best quality that fits
  • JPG/JPEG output with 200 DPI written into the file
  • Correct orientation, and location/camera details removed

It can't check your background, how recent the photo is, glasses reflections or headwear — those are up to you, as the guideline describes. It also doesn't replace the live photo capture.

Why the dimensions say “preferred”

IBPS lists 200 × 230 pixels as the preferred size, while the file size range and format are stated as requirements. Using the preferred size exactly is the safest choice, which is what ExamPhotoFixer produces.

If the file is below 20 KB

Plain images compress very well, so a small photo can come out under 20 KB even at the highest quality. ExamPhotoFixer keeps that highest-quality version and shows a warning instead of padding the file or adding artificial noise.

You can still download it. If the application website rejects it for being too small, start again from a sharper, higher-resolution original — more real detail produces a larger file.

Frequently asked questions

Is 200 × 230 the width or the height?

The first number is the width. The photo should be 200 pixels wide and 230 pixels tall.

If my file meets these values, will my form be accepted?

Meeting these technical values doesn't guarantee your application will be accepted — the exam body decides. Always check the current official instructions before you upload.

What DPI should the IBPS photo have?

The scanning instructions ask you to set the scanner resolution to at least 200 DPI. No maximum is stated. ExamPhotoFixer writes 200 DPI into the file; DPI doesn't change the pixel size.

Is ExamPhotoFixer affiliated with IBPS?

No. ExamPhotoFixer is an independent tool and is not affiliated with IBPS or any bank or exam body.
