Four images in the IBPS application

The IBPS application asks you to upload a photograph, a signature, a left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration; the notification says the application isn't registered until they are uploaded. This page covers the signature, thumb impression and declaration. For the photograph, see IBPS photo size.

Signature

  • 140 × 60 pixels (width × height), stated as preferred
  • File size 10–20 KB
  • JPG/JPEG, scanned at at least 200 DPI

Sign on white paper with a black ink pen, not in capital letters. IBPS compares the signature at the exam with the one you upload.

Left thumb impression

  • 240 × 240 pixels (width × height), stated as preferred
  • File size 20–50 KB
  • JPG/JPEG, scanned at at least 200 DPI

Put your left thumb impression on white paper with black or blue ink. If you don't have a left thumb, the notification lists which finger (or toe) to use instead, and asks you to write in the uploaded image which one it is.

Hand-written declaration

  • 800 × 400 pixels (width × height), stated as preferred
  • File size 50–100 KB
  • JPG/JPEG, scanned at at least 200 DPI

Write it yourself, in English only, clearly on white paper with black ink, and not in capital letters. A declaration written by someone else or in another language makes the application invalid. The text in the notification is:

“I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will submit the supporting documents as and when required.”

Copy the text from the notification for your recruitment in case it differs. Candidates who cannot write may upload the typed text with their left thumb impression below it, as the notification describes.

How to prepare each image

  1. Sign, press your thumb, or write the declaration on plain white paper as above.
  2. Scan it, or take a sharp, evenly lit picture with no shadows.
  3. Open the matching tool — signature, thumb impression or declaration — or do all four in the IBPS Complete Pack.
  4. Zoom so the ink fills the frame, process it, check the results list and download the JPG.

What the tools handle — and what they can't

  • Exact pixel size, cropped rather than stretched
  • File size within the stated range, at the best quality that fits
  • JPG/JPEG output with 200 DPI written into the file
  • Location and camera details removed

They can't check the ink colour, capital letters, the language or wording of the declaration, whose handwriting or thumb it is, or which finger was used. Those are up to you, as the notification describes.

If the file is below 50 KB

Plain images compress very well, so a small declaration can come out under 50 KB even at the highest quality. ExamPhotoFixer keeps that highest-quality version and shows a warning instead of padding the file or adding artificial noise.

You can still download it. If the application website rejects it for being too small, start again from a sharper, higher-resolution original — more real detail produces a larger file.

Frequently asked questions

Are these sizes mandatory?

IBPS lists the pixel sizes as preferred and states the file-size ranges and JPG/JPEG format as requirements. Using the preferred sizes exactly is the safest choice, which is what the tools produce.

Why is my signature or declaration file below the minimum size?

Dark ink on white paper compresses to small files. If the result is below the minimum (10–20 KB for the signature, 50–100 KB for the declaration) at the highest quality, the tools keep that version and show a warning instead of adding artificial data. A sharper, higher-resolution scan usually helps.

If my files meet these values, will my form be accepted?

Meeting these technical values doesn't guarantee your application will be accepted — the exam body decides. Always check the current official instructions before you upload.

Is ExamPhotoFixer affiliated with IBPS?

No. ExamPhotoFixer is an independent tool and is not affiliated with IBPS or any bank or exam body.
